Hey Jeff, thanks for reaching out. That is a pretty tall order. We do have 2-1/2" to 2" hitch extenders, but nothing rated for 12,000 lbs. The closest thing would be the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender # HR26 which is 7" long and rated for 5,000 lbs.

We have reducers that go from 2-1/2" to 2" such as part # BWRHXA2182 but this is not an extension. There would not be any 12k rated 4" extensions though.

What are you using this for exactly? If you want to let me know more specifics I might be able to come up with something that will work.

Have a 21/2 receiver on my truck, have a 2in slide in drop down ball hitch, I also have short tongue on my trailer w an electric jack mounted in it. The tailgate hits the motor in the top of the electric jack. Need the trailer back 4 ins to drop tailgate completely and not cause damage. Trailer is 10k loaded.

@JeffA Ok gotcha. So I'm afraid using a hitch extender would not be practical for this. Our rule of thumb for extensions is they reduce your hitches tongue weight capacity by half. Even if you were to find a smaller 4" extension, anytime you add another hitch pin and bring the center of weight farther from the hitch, the downward force on the hitch is exaggerated. Even with the bigger 2-1/2" hitch it would just not be a good idea. We could try looking at the 2" drop down ball mount you are using. Depending what you have and how long it is, there MIGHT be an option for a ball mount that is longer than what you have now. For example, the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # 325-GH-623 is 13-3/4" long when measured from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball. Do you know how long your current ball mount is? Measured from center of pin hole to center of ball?
