Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 10/07/2025

Question:

I am looking at a 2007 Freightliner M2 106 truck to pull a 5th wheel camper. The truck has a Prodigy brake controller. Im assuming it is a 2007 model. Will this brake controller work with electric over hydraulic trailer brake system DeeMaxx disc brake conversion purchased from you guys.

Hey Conyers, if its the original Prodigy brake controller it is not compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes but if it's the P2 # 90885 it is. The easy way to tell the difference is to look at the color of the numbers on the display of the controller. If they are red it's an original Prodigy. If blue it is the P2.

If you have to upgrade to the P2 it's super simple as it plugs into same harness and uses same mounting harness.

@Conyers Right on! The P2 would be a super easy upgrade like I mentioned. You would just need to be sure to put in hydraulic mode with the DeeMax actuator.
