Question:
Hello, I trying to decide between the RetraxOne XR and RetraxPro XR. Is the only difference the construction? And is the end result just going to be whether or not its 200lb vs 500lb of evenly distributed weight? Any difference on the durability over time? I live in florida and this bed cover will likely be getting baked in the sun for most of the year. I assume the polycarbonate will conduct less heat in the sun. The main purpose of the bed is I am trying to keep surfboards locked away in the bed.

The main difference between the RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Covers like part # RTT-60373 and RetraxPRO XR Hard Tonneau Covers like part # RTT-80373 is the material and size of the slats, the ONE being polycarbonate and the PRO being aluminum. The PRO is going to be more durable and it can hold more weight (500 lbs. vs. 250 lbs.). That said, the PRO is also less cost effective. They will both preform equally well in direct sunlight although the polycarbonate may run a bit cooler, it really won't affect anything though. In summary, if you actually will be hauling gear on top of the cover then go with the PRO but if not and you are really just using the cover to help protect items underneath it then save some money and go with the ONE.
If you can provide me with the year, make, model, and bed size of the truck I'd be happy to make sure you get the correct parts.
