Best Towing Mirrors For 2025 Volvo XC60 Ultra

Even though the site indicates that these will work on my vehicle, they do not work on my 2025 Volvo XC60 Ultra. The shape of the car mirror prohibits the outer strap from grabbing the car’s mirror. The strap slides off the end of the mirror. It also looks like it would impede the rotation of the automatic folding mirrors. What is your experience with the CIPA clamp on mirror as an alternative? I see lots of negative reviews about them falling off.

Hello Bob, thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear the K-Source Mirrors # KS3990 are not working out. Looking at pictures of the 2025 Volvo XC60 Ultra I can see how the shape of the outer half of the mirror would be problematic.
That said, I do think the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors # CM11980-2 are actually the best alternative we offer. It uses two clamps that go on the top edge of the mirror. With the clamps spaced so close together it should have no problem gripping the top edge of the mirror. The shape of the outer portion of the mirror won't matter. So I have no doubt they could be made to fit.
The tradeoff is these mirrors only have two points of contact, so they are more prone to vibration at high speed. In my experience the vibration is not too bad, and they will do fine to give you the extra visibility you are wanting. The clamps use hand knobs that can go pretty tight, but you will want to keep an eye on them and check and make sure they are tight after each trip. I think some of the cases of them falling off might be due to the hand knobs not being checked and tightened. I have also heard of folks forgetting they are on there and pulling into a narrow garage.
