Why Does The 80 Amp Converter Charger Have a Different Plug Than The 60 Amp Converter Charger?
Question:
I am looking at the Progressive Dynamics LI Converter/Charger either 60A or 80A output. I noticed the 80A has a different plug than the 60A. Is there a reason? I currently have a 9200 with 13.6V - 60 amp output and it is not keeping gel battery charged. So, am going to get LI. Also, should I get 2 ea 100 ah or 1 ea 200ah? Any other comments will be welcome.

The Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series Battery Converter Charger # PD89RR has the different plug as it requires plugging into a 20 amp circuit. This is due to having the higher output which requires additional power into the unit. Since you currently have a 60A system you only need to go with the Converter Charger # PD79RR.
I recommend going with two 100AH Batteries # GP99QR versus a single battery. I prefer the 2 batteries as if something were to happen with one of the batteries it will not leave you dead in the water like you would experience with a single battery.
