Can a Standard 12' Wide Awning be Used for a Slide-Out?

Question:

Can this awning be installed on a slide out? I would need the 12foot awning. I plan to also purchase 2 slide out stabilizers to use when the slide out is out to help support the additional weight.

Hey Jim!

The Solera XL 12V Power RV Awning # LCV000334919-362241 will be slanted downwards away from the RV so it will make contact with the slide-out.

for your application you need the Black # LCV000177334 or White # LCV000163298 awning designed specifically for a slide-out. I chose these based off of the 12' wide awning you were looking at, so you'll want to confirm your slide-out is slide-outs 140" - 145" wide. If you aren't sure where to measure, just check out the linked photo to see where to measure, and then let me know what you find.

Was there a specific reason you were looking at a standard awning?

Hey Jim, did you have a chance to check if your slide-out is between 140 - 145 inches wide for the awning? I'm asking because it could help others who are considering similar upgrades.
