I have a 2025 Bronco Sport. I had a tow bar installed, after market. It has a flat 4 terminal plug. My trailer has a round 7 prong male plug. How do I change the 7 wire, to a 4 wire, and have brak?es

Hi Garland!

We have what you need to get a 7-way added to your 2025 Ford Bronco Sport. Having the 4-flat already will make things easier, which is nice.

So with that said, you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. This will piggyback off that 4-flat and will convert you over to a 7-way. It also has all the wiring and other component needed to get a brake controller installed so you can get the brakes working on your trailer.

If you don't already have a brake controller picked out, I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR You will need to drill a small hole somewhere for the post the adjustment knob attaches to, but you probably have a blank port somewhere on the dash that you could do this in. That knob will be the only visible part of the controller once fully installed. It also work very well. It is the controller I would install in my Silverado if I needed a brake controller.

What are you going to be towing?

Hi Garland, Did you have a chance to install the Universal Installation Kit and the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on your Bronco Sport? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others looking to set up their towing system.
