Updated 09/16/2025 | Published 08/31/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2025 F250 Platinum with full LED tail lights. I will be flat towing my F250 behind my motorhome. I need to know which light wiring kits would be compatible with my truck.

Hi Jonathan!

The best flat tow wiring kit for your 2025 Ford F250 Platinum with LED taillights will be the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267. This will work with the LED lights and has all the ports needed to set up the braking system as well, though you will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to keep your F250's brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your RV.

Do you already have the braking system and the rest of the flat towing components?

I don't have the braking system, but I am thinking I will go with the AirForce One Braking System. One other thing, can you look at the baseplates I would need? My 2025 F250 Platinum, is a tremor. I wanted the Roadmaster plates, but it seems those won't work. What would be the next best option (would prefer it be the kind that can be taken in and out like the Roadmaster one, so it's not as visible when not in use). Thoughts? Do I need the cable that will charge the battery on the F250 as well?

@JonathanT Your battery will drain while being flat towed, so you will want a charge line. For the towed side you will want the # RM-156-25, and for the RV side you will want the # RM-156-75 (if that port on your 7-way isn't active). The Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Wireless Monitoring # DM26VR is one of my favorites and I almost always recommend it, so I think it's a very good choice. Just be aware you will need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to keep your truck's brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your RV. Having the Tremor package does make the base plate a bit more difficult, but not the end of the world or anything. The only option with removeable arms is the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit # C56JR. This will work with Curt and Blue Ox tow bars though, so it is still a good option. As you were looking at the Roadmaster base plate, can I assume you have a Roadmaster tow bar? If so, which one?

@LazerS I actually have the NSA tow bars currently. My previous truck had Blue ox plates.

@JonathanT If the NSA tow bars you currently have were being used with the Blue Ox base plate on your previous truck, the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit # C56JR will work perfectly fine. If you wanted to check out a fixed arm Blue Ox option though, that would be the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # BLU37UR. I don't think it would be super noticeable after being installed, but we haven't done an install with it as of yet so I can't say that for sure.
