Picking Out Disc Brake Components for EZ Loader Trailer

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 08/28/2025

Question:

I have an ezloader boat trailer model 1-TEZR 23-25/27 7000 H2X. Its a double axle trailer rated for 7000 lbs. The wheels are 15 and 6 x 5 1/2 bolt pattern. The brake attach flange is square 4-bolt. Has original factory drum brakes and I am looking for a kit to upgrade to disk. I only launch and retrieve in salt water. I cant seem to find an appropriate kit on your website that matches wheel bolt pattern and brake attach flange. suggestions?

Hey Paul, can you get me the axle capacity of each of your axles? It would seem most likely you had 3,500 lb axles but based on your bolt pattern that doesn't quite add up so it's best to verify that first so we can make sure we get correct fitting kits. It should be on the axle tube on a sticker but if not you could pull a hub and get me the bearing numbers out of that.

In the meantime check out the links I attached on this page that detail how to pick out disc brake components for a trailer.

@PaulF That is an unusual axle capacity for a trailer axle. Since it's not a standard capacity we know the bearings of I would recommend pulling a hub and either getting the bearing numbers out of the hub or the dimensions of the spindle where the bearings ride.
