Troubleshooting Curt Echo Not Powering On

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/25/2025

Question:

We have a 2014 Mercedes ML350 and using the Curt Bluetooth brake controller. It was working fine but when parking I checked and it seemed a little loose from the 7 pin. We adjusted it and then lost power to the travel trailer. We took it out and plugged back in and still nothing. How do we troubleshoot this?

Hey Felicia. Does your 7-way connector have power when you do not have the Curt Echo item # C51180 plugged in? It sounds like you may have blown a fuse or shorted something out on your Mercedes when you adjusted the brake controller. Taking the Curt Echo out and just plugging your trailer into your Mercedes would rule out the controller being an issue if you still don't have power.

Hey Felicia, did you have a chance to check if your 7-way connector has power without the Curt Echo plugged in? I'm asking because I want to make sure we find the right solution for you.
