Can Replacement Snap Ring Swivel Jack Mount on Old Mounting Plate on Travel Trailer

Updated 08/25/2025 | Published 08/11/2025

Question:

I have a split ring swivel jack on my travel trailer. The handle broke off yesterday. Is it possible to remove the split ring and replace the jack while still using the existing welded on mounting plate?

Hi Reed; this is possible but the old mounting plate will need to match up with the jack. For example, the Bulldog Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack # BD151110 uses the # F500242 bracket. It has a 3/8" diameter pull pin which can vary between jacks so make sure to check what you have now. I also attached the dimensions for the mounting bracket below so you can compare.

This jack is a sidewind with a 15-1/4" lift and 2,000 lb capacity. If you have different dimensions, a different pin, or if you need a different lift/capacity let me know and I'll see what is available.

All the dimension work but the jack I need to replace has a 1/2” pull pin not a 3/8” pin. I am replacing and old hammerblock corp jack, model 150. Logo on the jack looks like it is the same as the bull dog logo. What would you recommend?

@ReedK if everything else lines up you could get away with using the jack since the pull pin is only 1/8" smaller. It isn't enough of a difference to matter but there may be a little play when it is stored upright so you could throw a strap or bungee around it if that is an issue.
