Availability Of Shorter Hubs For Old Trailer
Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 08/09/2025 >
Question:
I have an old trailer that only had one hub on it when I got it. That hub is beyond use and missing bearings. I was able to figure out that the inner bearing is a LM67048 and the outer is a LM11949. I found the DX22XR that matches the bearings, however my concern is the hub height. My hub is 3.40 inches in height. The DX22XR I believe is just over 4 inches. Do you have a hub that matches my dimensions exactly?

Hello Joshua, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you have an older trailer that uses the old-style "short" hubs. Sadly this kind of hub is obsolete and we do not carry anything to match that. All of the current modern hubs are about 4-1/4" long just like you said. With no compatible hubs available, the best solution here would be to replace your axle with something more modern.
If you want to look into that I would need to know what weight capacity axle you need. I would also need to know the hub face 9HF) length and spring center (SC) length.

Hey Joshua, did you have a chance to gather the axle weight capacity, hub face length, and spring center length for your trailer? If you’re still looking for a solution, I’m happy to help.
