Air Bag Suspension Enhancement Kit Recommendation for 2025 Ford F-350

Updated 08/05/2025 | Published 08/04/2025

Question:

Looking to buy air bag system for a 2025 Ford f350 Superduty, 4x4, long bed, gas. There are several out there. The bags themselves appear to be very similar with the major differences being the mounting hardware. Questions: some of the bags have jounce bumpers inside the bag. Do these with the jounce bumpers inside shorten the distance they can move with the suspention? What about the bags that do not have the built in jounce bumpers? Finally, do air bags generally shorten the available suspention travel any more than the OEM jounce bumpers? Thanks for your reply! Jeff

Hey Jeff, in my personal opinion the internal jounce bumpers of the air spring kits don't do much and are mostly hype for something most would never use. In theory if a bag or air line failed the internal jounce spring would be there for some additional support but it's a pretty rare occurrence for that to happen. I've yet to see any feedback where someone mentioned them in any way.

The kit I would recommend for your 2025 Ford F-350 would be the Firestone part # F95FV as we have found they have the highest quality bags.

These kits do not limit travel in any way either. Are you wanting a compressor too?

I ask the bounce bumper question because what happens to the bags if, when your heavily loaded your airbag system for whatever reason looses air psi (or you did not prefill them to an estimated but approprare psi?).

@JeffK Normally if the bags didn't have the air support needed they would act like they aren't there and the weight would be put on the vehicle suspension entirely. The jounce bags in this situation would have a bit more support at the bottom of the suspension range which is what they were intended for. If the bag wasn't inflated properly or somehow lost pressure.
