Recommended Air Bags for a 2025 Ford F-250 Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2025 Ford F250 XL and I tow a Brinkley 5th wheel with a loaded pin weight of just a hair over 3,000 lbs loaded about once a month. I was looking to do the load lifter 5000 XL but some were saying that I would exceed the 5000 lbs when considering the weight of the truck as well. What is your recommendation?

Hey Kyle. Unless you're driving around with 1,500 lbs of gear in the bed of your 2025 Ford F-250, the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs item # AL29DQ are not going to be overloaded. Your 5th wheel hitch and a full tank of fuel may add 500 lbs depending on if you went with the 34 gallon or 48 gallon.

You can always jump up to the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate Air Helper Springs item # AL89DQ, if you do carry a bunch of gear. These have a 7,500 lbs capacity and are compatible with all in bed hitches. It looks like you bought a set of these last year for a Ram truck.

I recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone so you can fine tune the support to match your comfort needs.

How much gear do you haul in the bed of your truck when you're towing your Brinkley?

Very minimal additional weight. Maybe a canopy or small amount of firewood. I am using the B&W gooseneck ball, so that additional weight is minimal as well. Thanks for your recommendation, I'll go with the 5000 ultimate to get the internal bounce bumper.

@KyleS You're welcome! The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs item # AL29DQ are definitely what you need with that light of a load in your bed. If you had a secondary fuel tank or a bunch of tools back there would be the only reason I can see there being any concern of too much tongue weight.
