What Do I Need To Rewire My Trailer

Question:
I am wanting to replace the wiring and plug for my trailer-wires seem brittle from weather exposure. Im not really sure where to begin in understanding what I will need. My bake lights are fine I am just worried about the wiring itself and replacing the plug. Could you please direct me to what my options are for this need? Thank you very much .

What type of plug does your trailer use? 4-flat, 7-way round, or something else?
And how long is your trailer?
