Question:
Is the zinc finish powder-coated too?

Expert Reply:
Good question, Carla. This version is zinc-plated only, without a secondary powder coat layer. That zinc finish is strong on its own and helps prevent corrosion, especially in freshwater or light salt environments.
Most brake actuators are either raw steel, powdercoated, or zinc-plated. Zinc-plated is typically what people prefer if they live near water or live in harsh conditions with salty roads in the winter.
For that reason, I'd stick with Demco DA75 Trailer Brake Actuator - Zinc - Drum # DM28CV or Demco DA75 Trailer Brake Actuator - Zinc - Disc # DM33CV depending on if you have drum or disc brakes, respectfully.

Hey Carla, did you decide to go with the zinc-plated brake actuator for your trailer? I'm curious to know if it met your needs, especially if you're dealing with salty roads or water exposure. Your experience could really help others in similar situations!
