A 1-3/4" channel is a bit of an oddity, Frank.
Probably a silly question, but it isn't round is it? We do have the Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler # BD028242 that can slide over a 1-3/4" tube. This is a very uncommon style, but figured I would throw it out there, just in case.
If your channel is square or rectangular and is 1-3/4" wide, you would need to use either some washers or a 1/8" spacer on both sides. The smallest channel our couplers fit is a 2", like the # CT-3001-Z you found, but spacers/washers wouldn't hurt the capacity or anything like that. As long as everything is tightened down properly, you are good to go.
What kind of trailer are you working on?

Thanks for your help. I used an adapter that seems to work.
