Hey Mark, welcome back and thanks for the measurements. I've got two options that are close to the dimensions you provided.
Gas Shock item # 372-5200-40. This one has a compressed length of 9.66" and an extended length of 17". It provides 40 lbs of force.
Universal Gas Strut item # ATL37BR. This one has a extended length of 18-7/16" and a compressed length of 10-11/16". It provides 42 - 52 lbs of force.
What brand and model snowmobile trailer do you have?

Hey Mark, did either of those gas struts end up working for the front hatch on your snowmobile trailer? Knowing which one fit best could really help others trying to match similar measurements.
