How Long Is the BTR Spindle TRU44FR From Inner Seal Edge To Start Of Threads?

Question:
Looking for replacement hubs for 60+ year old boat trailer. Spindle looks close to a BTR style, however the length of the bearing section is 2.57 inches from the inner edge of grease seal transition to the start of the threads. What is the length of this area on a standard BTR spindle?

Hello Jim, thanks for reaching out. For the BTR E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU44FR the length from the inner edge of the seal to the start of the threads is 3-3/16".
It sounds like your hubs are the old-style "short" hubs which are now obsolete. The best option would be to replace your spindles, or to replace the entire axle with something more modern/standard.
