Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/05/2025

Question:

Hello, I watched the video multiple times and followed all the steps in the video, when I plugged to until into power the wires going from the fuse assembly to the power supply started smoking, I unplugged the power and the wires were completely burned, it didnt throw any fuses or even the house breaker. The old power supply was working, the reason I replaced it was the transformer had a loud hum. I wired everything up exactly like the old unit please.advise what I need to.do.

Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. That is either due to a short somewhere along your wiring, or it is a wire gauge issue. Pretty much every time we see smoking or melted wire the problem is a short somewhere on the wiring that is WAY overdrawing the circuits. Check your wiring looking for any cut or exposed wire touching bare metal and fix as necessary.

Hey Tom, how did it go with checking the wiring for any shorts or exposed wires? I'm curious to know if that helped solve the issue, as it could really help others facing a similar problem.
