How Can I Keep the Wires Clean from GM Wired 5th Wheel Camera System to the Back of My Truck?

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/30/2025

Question:

Hi there! I have the GM wired camera system for my 5th wheel. We have a 2025 GMC Denali 3500HD. I installed/wired the camera from the RV back bumper, underneath the RV, towards the front of the RV, ending in the compartment that hold my LP gas tank at the front of the RV. Im struggling with how to safely attached the wires from teh RV to the camera port at the trucks back bumper. Do you have some cable management/kit of some sort that can old the excess slack of the wire to the truck? Thanks for your guidance!

Hello Robert,

We don’t have a complete kit available for organizing the wiring, but I do have a few parts that can help you keep things neat and secure.

For attaching the wiring along the trailer or truck frame, we offer the CE Smith Trailer Wiring Clips - Frame Mount - Zinc Plated Steel - Qty 10 # CE16867A. These are great for securing the cable to the frame, depending on how much slack you're working with.

To protect the wiring from abrasion and the elements, I recommend using 1/4" Diameter Wire Loom, 10' Long # 7509-10. It adds a nice layer of protection, especially for any exposed runs.

If you’re routing the cable through any drilled holes (such as in the LP gas tank storage compartment) an Open Snap Bushing - 1/2" Diameter Mounting Hole # SWC8075-1 is a great way to keep the edges smooth and prevent wear on the cable over time.

Got any big upcoming trips planned? If so, where are you headed?

Hey Robert, Did the wiring clips and wire loom help you secure the camera wiring on your RV? I'd love to hear how it worked out for you, as it could give others confidence when organizing their own setups.
