Solution for GM Truck that Solar on Trailer Prevents Brake Controller

Question:
Hi, I have an RV with a solar controller and towing with a 2025 silverado. Turns out the truck has an issue where the truck brake controller is not working due to feedback and noise generated from the solar controller over the brake controller line to the truck. I have read on the internet to put a switch In and turn off the solar controller to not charge the battery when towimg but was wondering if you know of a cleaner fix like some sort of RV 12 volt EMi suppression device I could try on the solar controller. Or any other fix? Thanks Gary

Hey Gary, I have heard about the really bizarre issue the new GM trucks have when using a solar setup on a trailer. The last I looked into it GM had some type of recall going where they could reprogram it. I believe there is a tech bulletin out for it and a GM dealer can get it taken care of and allow your brake controller to work.

Hey Gary, were you able to have the dealer reprogram your Silverado to fix the brake controller issue with your solar setup? Knowing what ended up working could really help others running into the same problem with newer GM trucks.
