Question:

Hello! I have a 1985 Holiday Rambler AlumaLite 20 foot tandem-axle tow-behind camper. I’m trying to replace the leaf springs but I’m having trouble finding what size I need. I measured the leaf springs on the camper and have the following measurements: Eye to eye: 22 3/4” Three leafs Width: 1 3/4” Axle tubes: 2 3/8” I believe the axles are 3500lbs a piece I’m looking for a complete kit with springs, hardware, equalizers, shackle links, u-bolts, and bushings. The closest thing I found on your site is part number E59SR, but I’m looking for a full kit and am not sure if the measurements are right with that one, but is the closest I could find. Are you able to assist with this? Thank you!

Hey Alexis, thanks for reaching out. You are on the right track with the # E59SR spring. That will be the closest to the specs you provided. It is like 3/8" longer than your current springs, but that is within the acceptable tolerance.

As far as the rest of the parts you mentioned, we can provide them, but we do not carry everything in one all-inclusive kit.

I can tell you the u-bolt kit you need is part # APUBR-1.

For the equalizers and shackle links, I will need some measurements from you. Measure the length of the equalizer from center hole to center hole. Then measure the height from the center hole line to the center of the top hole. The new equalizer must be identical in size to the original. For example the Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Double Eye Spring # A2252CB-GALV is 7-2/3" long and 2-7/8" tall. The diagram below will show you how to measure. I would just need the red and blue dimensions. The bolt holes are almost always 9/16".

Then the shackle links are measured from center hole to center hole.

Get me those measurements and leave it in a reply below. I am happy to look into it and make some recommendations.

Thank you! Our height of the equalizer is 2 1/4” and from the center of the lower hole to the center of the other lower hole is 5 3/4”. The overall length of the leaf spring shackles is 3 1/2” and center bolt to center bolt is 2 1/4” on the shackles.

@Alexis Perfect! For a replacement equalizer I recommend part # TREQ104. Or if you want an upgraded/shock absorbing equalizer use the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer Kit # K71-654-00. Then for the bolt/shackle kit use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR46ZR. This comes with 2-1/4" long HD shackles, wet bolts and bronze bushings. Is there anything else you were needing?
