Question:

Hello - I am looking at the Airlift 5000 ultimate kit for my truck but neither your website or theirs give specific information on my model. Can you please help? I have a 2025 Chevrolet 2500HD ZR2. Please let me know which kit Ill need.

Hello Robert, thanks for reaching out. We do have an air bag kit that will fit your 2025 Chevy 2500HD ZR2. For that I recommend the following:

- Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2613

These are 5,000 lb capacity air bags, and they will work with the ZR2 model. We have confirmed this with the techs at Firestone, as well as with several of our own customers who have successfully installed this kit on the ZR2 model.

I also recommend adding an onboard compressor. What I recommend is the Firestone Air Command Heavy Duty Air Compressor # F56VV. This will allow you to monitor and fill the bags using your smartphone, or with the included remote.

Thanks! Just curious if the Firestone bags utilize a cradle to allow for full suspension travel. This would be the most important for any off-road focused truck.

@RobertC So the more air you have in the bags, the less the suspension can travel. If you were to reduce the air to the minimum of 5psi then the suspension would be free to travel most of the way it would without the air bags. So it technically does limit the travel but only slightly. Firestone does not offer any kits with a free-float design. That said, there are aftermarket products for this which are known as Daystar cradles (we do not offer these).

@JesseM Thanks, that is what I thought. I’m just curious what is different about the Firestone kit compared to the airlift.

@RobertC So the Firestone air bags use a rolled crimp top plate which is considered more durable than the Air Lift. Also, the Firestone brackets are typically a bit more custom and easier to assemble. That said, there is not an Air Lift fit for the 2025 ZR2, so the Firestone will be your only option.
