Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/15/2025

Question:

I have a 2007 Ranger Trail trailer with disk brakes. It has the Tie Down Engineering LP70 brake actuator and I am looking for a complete replacement. I have not been able to fine one. What would be an exact fit replacement for the Tie Down Engineering LP70?

Hello Todd, thanks for reaching out. I do have an option for you, but a direct replacement for the TDE LP70 actuator is not available. Our best option for replacing it is the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator - Disc Brakes # 099-175-20.

This is a bolt-on actuator with the bolt holes 3" apart on center and it fits a 3" wide tongue. The design of this actuator is for it to sit on top of the trailer tongue as opposed to inside the trailer tongue like your current model.

Hey Todd, did the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator work out as a replacement for your Tie Down Engineering LP70? I'm curious to hear how it fit on your Ranger Trail trailer, as it might help others looking for a similar solution.
