Looking For Replacement Equalizers And Shackles For Old Tandem Axle Horse Trailer

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/09/2025

Question:

I have an old horse trailer I’m replacing the equalizers on. Its tandem axle has equlizer eq-e1. I’d like to put the ez flex and greasable shackle kit on. What do you recommend? Thanks

Hello Darrell, thanks for reaching out. The EQ-E1 equalizer is 7-3/4" long and 2-7/8" tall, and the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer # K71-655-00 is virtually identical in size so this will be a great option for an upgraded equalizer.

As far as the shackle kit, I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kits since they come with HD shackles, bronze bushings and wet bolts. I will need to know the length of your current shackles measured center hole to center hole. The MORryde kits come with either 2-1/4" long # MR46ZR, or with 3-1/2" long shackles # MR76ZR.

If you have a different shackle size just let me know.
