If you want your front end to look untouched when you’re not towing, this setup makes it happen. The completely hidden design keeps brackets out of sight, and the removable arms twist off and store easily. With the arms removed, receiver covers plug the openings to block dirt and debris while giving a finished, factory look.

The arm system is simple and quick to use. Each arm slides into the receiver and locks in place with a twist—no tools needed. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, rotate the arm, and remove it. That’s all there is to it. The system uses sturdy lugs that pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection every time.

This base plate bolts straight to the chassis with no welding required. Its solid steel build spreads towing forces evenly to help protect your suspension while you’re logging miles behind a motorhome. Powder coating helps fight off rust and corrosion so the hardware stays strong through years of towing.
If you already have a tow bar you like, this kit can work with it. It connects directly with Blue Ox tow bars and can be adapted for use with Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) tow bars—adapters sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to add an electrical connector plug bracket for clean wiring management up front.
Everything’s set up for an easy install without welding. The base plate bolts securely to the chassis using the included hardware, aligning with existing points for a clean fit. Specs are clear too: distance between brackets is 33" and bracket height is 20". Once mounted, you’ve got a tough, low-profile setup ready for flat towing duty.

I am glad you were able to get it installed with no issues and a little help from our video! What kind of coach are you pulling the Kia Soul with?

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Thanks for the detailed review Chris, and the pointers! This will be most helpful to others. What was your favorite stop in those 7,000 miles? Where did you go, what did you see?

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
