Can Electric Brake Assemblies Install with Magnet Above Spindle

Question:
I have a question for you. my shorlandr boat trailer had hydraulic surge brakes that dont work anymore and Im switching to electric brakes. I bought a set of backing plates and drums. my issue is that if I put the magnets down I cannot put them flat against the mounting bracket. it has a offset spindle from the axle. would it be OK to just rotate them 180 and put the magnets on top?

Hey Andrew, yes you can rotate your brake assemblies so that the magnet is above the spindle instead of below and they will work just fine. Are your brake assemblies self adjusting?

That's funny because I called yesterday since I didn't receive a reply from my email yet. They told me on the phone that they will not work correctly if the magnets are on top. I already ground down the backing plates to make them fit with the magnets down. No they are not self adjusting.
