Replacement Powered Landing Gear for Horse Trailer to Replace Atwood
Updated 05/07/2025 | Published 05/03/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I have a 95 Silverado 4 horse trailer with living quarters. It has dual Atwood jacks. I need to replace them with something heavier. The trailer weighs 12000.The lugs on the jack are 17 1/2 inches. Each jack has its own motor and toggle switch control. I just need a jack that I can wire in to what I have. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill

Hey William, the closest jack set we have to your Atwood setup would be the Reese powered landing gear part # RP500708 which is the only dual motor setup we have that has same mounting bracket dimensions as what you currently have. You would need to replace the switch setup you have now with what comes with this kit but aside from that it's a similar setup.
Atwood got out of the jack business several years ago so there isn't an exact replacement available which is why this is your best option. Is this close enough to what you are wanting to work for you?

Hello Jameson, I am afraid not. The trailer is 35' long. There is a lot of weight on the landing gear. The Atwoods have a hard time raising it up. I also need individual motors as our winter place in Arizona has uneven ground. I need to have the jacks work independently. Thanks, Bill
