Replacement Door Lock for 2010 Forest River Blue Ridge 3125RT

Question:

I have a 2010 blue ridge 3125rt. Looking to replace my door lock with an electronic one. The opening is 4 3/4 tall and 2 3/4 wide. I can not find one. I can’t even find a none electronic one. Can you help me?

Hey Vinnie! That cutout size isn't easy to match. The closest thing we have that also gets you an electronic lock is the Bauer NE RV Entry Door Lock for Trailers # BA53UR. This fits a cutout measuring 3-3/4" tall x 2-3/4" wide. You're right there on the width but the height is off by 1". That wouldn't be an issue if the face covered the hole but the front face plate is 4-1/2" tall. You will need to add in at least 1/4" of material on the top or bottom to fill the space or you could add in 1" to match the cutout.

There are some latches that would drastically increase the cutout size but I wouldn't recommend doing that. You also don't need a massive handle on your door. Sometimes the only option is to add in material when the cutout doesn't work well with what is available. The other option is to reach out to a local RV shop to see if they have a latch that will match your cutout size as is. If you have any other questions let me know in the comments below.

Hey Vinnie, did you decide to add material to make the Bauer electronic lock fit, or did you find another solution at a local RV shop? I'm curious to know what worked for you, as it could help others facing a similar challenge.
