Can The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack e23ZV Install Using Existing Wires On The Trailer?

Question:

Is it possible to hook up the existing wires from the trailer to the tongue jack? The previous wiring doesn’t go directly to the battery. The wire goes into the trailer and there’s a battery shut-off switch.

Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. That would be fine. There is really no need for a cut-off switch here but there is no reason why you can't use one. As long as the jack is connected to a 12v power source, it will operate as intended.

Hi Brian, did connecting the trailer's existing wires to the tongue jack work out for you? I'm asking because your experience could help others considering a similar setup.
