Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/26/2025

Question:

I currently have the PD9270 converter. Looking to upgrade to Lithium batteries.....two 12v 165Ah batteries in parallel. Should I go with the PD9360 or PD9360 converter? Current converter is 70A with 6 gauge wire.

Hey Phil, thanks for the information. To replace and upgrade your Progressive Dynamics PD9270 converter, I recommend the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger -item # PD79RR. If you move up to the 80A item # PD89RR you'll have to replace your 6 gauge wiring with 4 gauge wire. It will charge a little bit slower is the only issue.

You listed the same part numbers so I am not sure what the 2nd converter you were looking at was. We do not have a 70 amp one that is compatible with lithium batteries like item # GP99QR.

If you have any additional questions feel free to throw them in the comment box below.

Hey Phil, did you decide to go with the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series converter or another option for your lithium battery upgrade? I'm curious to know what worked for you, as it could help others looking to make a similar upgrade.
