Does Roadmaster Comfort Ride Add Height to Trailer
Updated 04/17/2025 | Published 04/08/2025 >
Question:
My 1974 Silver Streak seems to have 26 inch leaf springs. Do you have a setup for that? My SUV is too low to raise the floor level 2 inches. Can I install the system with the springs under the axles, leaving the shocks off, then change it up later, adding the shocks?

The Roadmaster Comfort Ride systems do not add height to the trailer if that is what you are asking about. You also can't use them without the shock kits. What diameter axles do you have and what capacity?

The current arrangement of the trailer axels is that the axles are above springs. If I move the axles below the springs it will raise the trailer up by the height of the spring stack plus the thickness of the axle. Moving the axle below the springs is the only way I see for the shocks to fit. Am I wrong about that? I believe the axles are square 1 3/4 and 5000 lbs per axle, but I need to measure them to make certain. Thanks for your help.
