Question:

I have a 5x8foot trailer. 2000lb axle. Im replacing the axle. The spring seat dimension is 58inch and the hub to hub dimension is 69. Can i use this axle? e37YR

Expert Reply:

You can but it's going to stick out an extra 1-1/2" wide on either side and you'll need to move the spring seats and replace them with a pair of item # TRSS175. I checked our inventory and the etrailer Axle item # e37YR you were looking at is going to be the closest we have to your 69" hub-face-to-hub-face dimension.

Hi Jerred, My spring center to center dimension is 58”. Not sure why I need to move the spring seat.

@Jerred You don't! My bad! I am so used to the spring seats not lining up. It's so uncommon to find ones that match that we're getting ready to carry axles without spring seats installed. Do you think this axle is going to work for you even though it's going to be 1-1/2" longer on either side?
