Question:
This equalizer is about two inches taller than the one currently on my tandum axle 5th wheel. I was considering flipping the axles to get more ground clearance. This kit would give me 1 inch taller suspension without flipping the axle. Are there any other considerations I should be aware of or options? Im trying to get a small amount of lift with flipping the axles, I think that would be too much. Are there springs with less arch ?

Hey Mike! Are you referring to the Dexter # K71-448-00? Adding a taller equalizer is possible but it won't raise the height of your overall trailer. You would also have to get longer hangers for the front and rear to match and raise the height. I don't recommend this since you may throw off your suspension if you don't get it right. The flip kit # K71-384-00 (2-3/8" axles) or # K71-385-00 (3" axles) is the most basic, cost effective way to do this.
You can also use the Correct Track # RR55QX to increase the height of all three sets of leaf spring hangers. This raises the height of the trailer by 1-1/4" or 2-1/4". Leaf springs with a flatter arch would not be effective so that isn't a solution. If you want to cut off your existing hangers and replace them all with longer ones that will work but it requires welding. It is important to make sure the increased length is the same for all three sets of hangers so you don't throw off your suspension geometry.

Hey Mike, what did you end up doing to get the extra ground clearance on your 5th wheel? It’d be great to hear if the flip kit or the Correct Track lift gave you the height you needed. Your update could make it easier for others looking for a small lift without flipping their axles too much.
