I have a 2019 Ford F-350 single axel. At what point am I required to install a break controller for a trailer?

Hey Chad! Trailer's weighing over 3,000 lbs require brakes by law in most states but some require them on 2,000 lbs trailers. These laws apply when you're driving through the state, not where the trailer's registered, so it's just easier if you go with any trailer over 2,000 lbs requires brakes.
To add a brake controller to your 2019 Ford F-350, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Dash Knob item # RED67CR. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your F-350. The Liberty has a unique installation method where the main unit is concealed behind your dash and the only part visible is the control knob.
The Redarc item # RED67CR comes with a plug and play adapter that makes for an easy installation.

Hey Chad, how did things go with adding the Redarc brake controller to your F-350? Did the setup work smoothly with your trailer’s braking system? Your update could make it easier for others towing similar loads.
