Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD for B and W Patriot Slider

Updated 04/23/2025 | Published 03/22/2025

Question:

I am purchasing a 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali that does not have 5th wheel hitch prep. I currently have a B and W Patriot slider, Part BWRVK3270, in my 06 Chevy. I have an extra set of universal rails to install in the 2017. I am contacting you to confirm that the part number RVR2506 is the part I need to install the new base rails? I assume the Reese and Curt rails as well as the B and W are universal and will line up with this kit or do I also need the BWRVR3210? Thank you for your time, John

Hey John, you actually are not supposed to mix and match rails with bracket kits. So if you are sure you have a set of B and W universal rails (they should be gray) then you could use just the bracket kit part # BWRVR2506. If you know the brand of the rails I can come up with the correct bracket kit assuming its a brand we carry.

Otherwise the complete rail kit from B and W part # BWRVK2506 would be what you'd want.

Only number printed on the bottom of the rails is A12024. They are black so unless they were painted after install they would not be B and W. I can't find that number on Reese or Curt rails.

@JohnS I can't seem to find any reference to that part number so I cannot verify the original brand. I would assume they definitely aren't B and W though.

@JamesonC So one more question. I purchased the rvk2506 kit. I have finished chasing the threads on the frame but I see the mounting holes in the side plate of the kit has oblong holes. Is it just to allow forgiveness of the pilot holes?

@JamesonC OK, one more. The Rvk2506 instructions for the rails holes state measure 24 5/8 plus a tiny bit for any bed coating in a 6'6" bed. Well my bed is 6'7"......I assume the measurement is still 24 5/8?
