Will etrailer Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Clear the Spare Tire on a Toyota RAV4

Question:
Can you use this cargo on my toyota. Will it clear my hard cover tire attached to tailgate.Will I be able to fold up when empty.

Expert Reply:
In order to determine if the etrailer cargo carrier # e98874 will clear the spare tire on your Toyota RAV4 you will need to take one measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance needed to clear the spare tire. I have linked a help article showing how to do this.
If the measurement is less than 19-1/2 inches, the carrier will fit when folded down. If the measurement is less than 9-1/2 inches then it will also fit when folded up.
