Does Roadmaster Sway Bar for 2025 Ford E-450 Require Frame Modification

Updated 03/17/2025 | Published 02/28/2025

Question:

I am having McKee RV install a Roadmaster Rear sway Code: RM-1139-147 on my new 2025 E450, however they said they are having issues installing and will need to modify the frame. Can you offer any installation knowledge as how to get this installed without modifying the frame?

Hey Peter, did they have any more insight on what the issue was? We've installed this sway bar several times without having to modify the frame but I am curious what they mean though. In meantime I attached a link to install video for this sway bar on a similar RV that you can show them.

Yes they did, the unit is a 2025 Thor Outlaw Toy hauler and apparently the rear sway bar will not work on this unit because what Thor did to the frame to allow it to be a toy hauler I was told, additionally they thought Sumo Springs might be an option however same issue they have not made the proper adaptor kit yet for a 2025 I am being told.

@Pete I sent this to Roadmaster and will let you know what they say.

@JamesonC perfect, thank you, the dealer (McKee RV, Perry Iowa) said it was possible to install it but they would of had to modify the frame and that would void the Ford and Thor warranties.

@Pete I just checked with Roadmaster and they said they don't list this as a fit for the 25 models and that's the issue. I see we have it shown as a fit currently in our fitguide but I don't see the sway bar order from you.
