Trailers Backing Plate Is Not The Same Distance From The Drum Front And Rear

Hi, my trailersfoot backing plate is not the same distance from the drum, there is approximately a 1/2inch gap difference between the front and rear of the drum. The right and left are identical. Thank you

Hey Steve. If one of your axles is damaged or bent it could be causing the issue you described. Or it could be your trailer was equipped with two different axles. If the axle are not identical it could cause issued like uneven tire wear, or tracking issues. It could also be the way the parts were installed. Really hard to say without more info or without looking at the trailer. It may be the case that one or more axles on this trailer need to be replaced.
