Question:
Hi, I have a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 which has a 4-pin trailer connector already installed. I would like to upgrade to a 7-pin. What is the correct connector adapter? I would also like get a brake controller that I can switch between vehicles. Maybe a Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller - 7-Way Plug-in w/ Bluetooth App - Up to 2 Axles – Proportional? Thank you

Hey Juergen, since you already have a 4-pin adding a 7-way will be pretty easy. You'll just need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit will just plug into your existing 4-pin and provide your Ioniq 5 with a 7-way.
As far as a brake controller goes, I think your idea with the Curt Echo # C51180 is great. This just gets plugged into a 7-way and you'll be all set, so you can move it from vehicle to vehicle.
What kind of trailers are you pulling with your Hyundai? Anything fun penciled in? Feel free to drop a comment and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Hey Juergen, how did things go adding the 7-way connector and using the Curt Echo brake controller with your Ioniq 5? Your update could make it easier for the next person upgrading from a 4-pin setup.
