Is there a way to adapt this for use with a fat bike with 4.8inch tires?

Hey Lisa! At this time we do not have a way to adapt the Benton LittleShift Bike Rack # B54VR to fit tires larger than 4". Do you need a bike rack with an 80 lb capacty? If a 60 lb capacity is enough you could use the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo # RKY10007 which has a maximum tire width of 5". If you need the full 80 lb capacity check out the Saris MHS DUO Bike Rack for 1 Bike # SAR23MR.
