Underbed Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500

Question:

Hello, I am looking into options for my 2022 Silverado 3500 crew cab. I am considering the BandW turnover ball and a companion hitch. My truck does not have the OEM prep. I am also wondering if there is an aftermarket puck and gooseneck for my truck. Would you know if there is and option to add the OEM puck and gooseneck?

Hey Carmen, the B and W Companion and Turnoverball rail kit part # BW65SR that fits your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 is your best option for what you are looking for. This is the closest thing available to an underbed/puck/OEM style of setup available. GM maybe could install an OEM puck kit but it would be $$$ and it wouldn't come with a fifth wheel hitch. What are you planning on towing?

Purchased a 2025 StarCraft gsl light 304bhs. Unloaded weight is under 10,000lbs. Thank you so the suggestion on on B and W turnover as the best option. As to the fifth wheel hitch I am currently considering the B and W companion (unsure if I will need a slider), Anderson ultimate, and Blue Ox. I will be getting measured soon on the width, and pinbox soon.

@CarmenT I feel confident you'd be okay to go with a fixed hitch. I check ed out the front of the 2025 StarCraft gsl light 304bhs and it has an extended pin box and a tapered nose which was designed for short bed turning clearance which out requiring a slider.
