Slide-In Camper Tie-Down Kit to Fit a 1990 Toyota Pickup

Updated 06/03/2025 | Published 02/08/2025

Question:

Do you have a Torqlift frame mount solution for a 1990 Toyota Deluxe Pickup? I have a lightweight old Roamin Chariot slide-in camper and am having trouble visualizing how to attach the front tiedowns to the frame without using straps. Thanks in advance!

Hey Patrick, thanks for reaching out!

In order to get tie-downs that fit your 1990 Toyota Pickup you'll need to go with more of a universal kit like the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSWB as there aren't any custom-fit options that fit your vehicle.

I'm attaching the dimensions for these tie-downs for you to check out and see if they'll fit your truck or not.

Do you already have turnbuckles or a way to anchor your slide-in camper to a tie-down kit?

Thank you Jon - Any chance you can post a photo of these tie-downs in use? I'm having a hard time visualizing how they are placed and if I could see them in-situ, I'm sure I'd get it. Thanks for fielding such a basic newby question!

@Patrick We have some photos of these types of tie-downs installed, but we actually have a video of the alternative kit # HSAB installed on a truck that I'm linking to this comment for your reference! These just have slightly different dimensions than the ones that I initially linked. I would add a photo to this comment as well, but we currently don't have the ability to do that. We have photos on the product pages though - you can get to the pages by clicking on the hyperlinked part numbers.

@JonG Finally getting to this install and thinking I want new turnbuckles. What are my options - basic vs Qwik-load? What do you recommend in this case?

@Patrick The Brophy Basic Turnbuckles # TDHP, which I see you purchased yesterday, are the ones I do recommend using for this setup. Great pick!
