Will Weight Distribution Hitch Fit Additional Trailers

Question:
We have a 2019 Forest River 16’ Wolf Pup single axle camper. It tows pretty well behind my 1/2 ton Suburban, except when windy, then things get pretty hairy. I’m confident in my driving skills, but honestly, this makes me nervous when it’s windy. Eventually in a few years I’d like to upgrade our camper to a slightly bigger one. As long as we don’t go significantly bigger, if we get a hitch for this application, can the hitch be used on another platform?

Hey Dave! As long as you have a weight distribution hitch that lets you swap out the spring bars this won't be an issue not matter the size. Is your current camper the 2019 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS? If so, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # EQ37060ET will work for you.
This WDH has a tongue weight range of 200 lbs - 600 lbs which falls in line with your trailer specs. It also has 4-point sway control so you will see a big difference when it is windy. The spring bars of this system can be swapped out for different ratings so when you get your new camper you won't have to replace the system. If the tongue weight of your loaded setup falls within the range of the system you won't have to change anything at all. Don't hesitate to reach out in the comments below if you have any additional questions.
