Would Camera of Furrion Vision S System Have Glare if Mounted Next to LED Clearance Light
Updated 02/04/2025 | Published 02/02/2025 >
Question:
I would like to install a Furion backup camera on the back obviously of my 20 foot enclosed Jeep/motorcycle hauler trailer that we tow behind our 45 foot motorhome. I chose the Furion because it is listed as having a 492 foot connection range. Anyway, my question has to do with mounting the camera on the trailer in the limited area available above the ramp door, that unfortunately will put the camera not below the clearance light, but beside it. I only have a 3 inch vertical surface to mount the camera above the ramp door see attached images. So my question is: Will mounting the camera beside the clearance light create a poor image situation from the glare of the red clearance light? Im thinking it may. I could move the camera to the outside edge of the trailer to get it farther away from the center clearance light. Not ideal, but an option. Thank you.

Hey Ken, this is a great question but the camera that comes with the Furrion Vision S Observation System part # FOS05TASF sticks out far enough away from the trailer body that your LED light would not be able to create a glare. We have a RAV4 that has this problem and it is super annoying so I get why you want to avoid it. But on the RAV4 the camera is flush with the hatch which is at exact same height as the third brake light.
