Question:
Looking at this or the GENY GY48GR. Are both good quality? And we need towards the shockers since my pin weight might be close to maxing out the gen y. Please advise.

Hey Matt, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, both the Shocker Hitch # SHK47YR and Gen-Y # GY48GR 5th wheel to gooseneck pin boxes are great quality, and the real difference is just the air bag vs rubber torsion arms.
The air bag system is one that I like a little better just because it is more customizable, but I do understand the "no maintenance" appeal of the Gen-Y setup as well. The Gen-Y is best for 5th wheels that have a calculated tongue weight of 1,600-2,599 lbs (which is your GVWR x 0.22) so if you're pushing the high end of that tongue weight range then it would be worth going with the Shocker Hitch just for the sake of having a beefier setup.

Hey Matt, how did things turn out with the Shocker Hitch versus the Gen-Y pin box for your setup? Did the air bag system give you the extra support you needed for that higher pin weight? Your update could make it easier for others comparing these two options.
