Hello Jim,
Great question! Because there is not a real standard to trailer suspension I do not have a direct answer for the spacing for the hangers to install the # e36FV. It all depends on what size shackle you are using, if the spring is over or under the axle. Most likely your measurement is going to fall between 25 1/4" to 26 1/2". You want to make sure your shackle strap is at a 40-50 degree angle. I attached a picture of what single axle suspension should look like, I know it's weird going off "looks like" but that's the way to do it. I have also attached a great help article that we have about trailer suspension.
I really wish I could give you a direct answer with "this many inches." Are you building a trailer from scratch or upgrading the suspension on an older trailer?

Thanks for the reply, Kate. Retired mechanical engineer building a trailer from scratch. I would think that E-Trailer would have the load - deflection data for this spring or access to the manufacture's recommended hanger spacing. I'll load the spring in my hydraulic press and work out the spacings. Jim C.
