Question:

Hello I recently bought a rocky mount monorail 2 bike hitch mount. And Im wondering if there are any upgrades in the locks for the hitch and cable that I can buy other than the metal case one. Maybe a beefier one from a third party. Im just having a hard time finding info on those type fo lock pods.

For the regular locks the best upgrade is the # RKY12006 you mentioned. The bolts and hitch pin are bike rack specific so you need to stick with something that fits those. These locks will have a sturdier housing since it isn't plastic so they would hold up better against a thief.

Outside of that you could add a heavy-duty cable like Trimax Trimaflex Cable Lock # TMX24ZR. This is 6' long and has a 1" diameter so it takes some work to get through it. Between the three you will have a pretty solid deterrent. Ultimately if someone is determined enough or skilled they will defeat any lock you can add to the bike rack.
