There are several scenarios that could apply for your 2 Chevrolet Trucks. For your 1997 with the 8 ft long bed, part # BWGNRK1000 is the gooseneck hitch that would work well. this applies if the truck is either 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 1 ton.
For the 2000 truck you have, there can be several different options. If it is the 3/4 ton or 1 ton and has the Old Body Style then part # BWGNRK1000 would be a fit. You can tell if you have the Old Body Style or New Body Style quite easily by the tail lights. The Old Body Style tail lights will feature 2 colors, (red and white).
If your truck has tail lights with 3 colors, (red, white, and amber), then it is the New Body Style and there are several options for a gooseneck hitch for it. The way to tell the difference between a Standard Duty and a Heavy Duty is the frame height. If the frame height is the same all the way around then it is the Heavy Duty. If it tapers toward the rear of the truck, it is the Standard Duty.
If New Body Style you need to know if it is Heavy Duty or a Standard Duty and if it is 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 1 ton.
For a 1/2 ton New Body Style and 3/4 Light Heavy Duty Body Style you would use part # BWGNRK1059.
If it is a New Body Style 3/4 ton Heavy Duty, the gooseneck hitch would be part # BWGNRK1067.
If it is the New Body Style 1 ton, the gooseneck hitch for that is part # BWGNRK1062.
